Dragonfly Beater · Big Softy

Tackle Instrument Supply and Dragonfly Percussion have teamed up once again to create the Big Softy, the biggest and softest bass drum beater on the planet.

Like Dragonfly's other popular beaters, it's built from tightly stacked layers of fabric on a threaded brass stem. The Big Softy has 3" discs of soft, fluffy flannel, which give you a huge bass response. There's no core, only the stacked layers, so there's almost no attack. It has a ton of give against the head, and it feels as luscious as it sounds.

If you want to transform your kick into something totally new, with maximum full-bodied lows and virtually no contact sound, look no further than the Big Softy.

Dragonfly Percussion has been making mallets for the world's top orchestras for 20 years, and its kick drum beaters bring that attention to timbre to the drum set. They're adapted from Viennese-style timpani mallets, and the full-bodied, warm sound and responsive feel is unlike anything else you've tried.
